# Watchlist

Pin Matterhorn companies for follow-up, interpret rank and score changes, and keep a focused record of what would strengthen or weaken each thesis.

A watchlist earns its place by keeping a question alive. Pin companies you want to revisit for a specific reason, rather than every company with an attractive score.

## Pin or remove a company

Open the company detail and select **Add to watchlist**. The button changes to **On watchlist**. Select it again to remove the pin. Your pinned companies appear in the **Watchlist** section of Overview, using the same card style as Top 10 Opportunities.

Pins are kept in this browser's local storage. They are not a brokerage portfolio or a synchronized account record. A different browser, private window, device, or cleared site data may show a different list.

## Follow the reason for the pin

Keep these notes alongside your watchlist in your preferred notebook:

| Note         | Example research question                                            |
| ------------ | -------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Mechanism    | Can recurring demand improve the economics of each additional sale?  |
| Confirmation | Does the next filing show stronger gross profit and cash conversion? |
| Risk         | Is growth concentrated in one customer or one spending cycle?        |
| Invalidation | Would weakening margins alongside rising debt break the case?        |
| Review date  | When should another filing or earnings report resolve the question?  |

Score changes appear directly beneath the current score, aligned to its right edge. Watchlist arrows compare the current recorded Matterhorn score with the latest recorded score at or before the seven-day cutoff. For example, **58 → 60** means a two-point increase in the displayed score, not a stock-price return or a two-place rank change. Hover or select the pair, or focus it and press **Enter**, to read the exact scores and their dates.

If the scoring method changed between observations, the pair stays muted with a question-mark caveat. That difference cannot be attributed solely to the company. Missing history is not a zero score. Check **History** and the supporting evidence before treating a movement as new business momentum.

In ML mode, the main score and rank still use the published beta prediction. A separate **Matterhorn score · 7 days** line shows the underlying standard-score history. It does not measure a change in the ML score: the frozen beta has no weekly prediction history yet. The snapshot date matters; a pin does not trigger a fresh prediction. An uncovered company may be shown separately as pinned but not ranked.

> **Pro Tip — Write down what would remove a company before adding it.** A watchlist without an exit condition tends to become a collection of old enthusiasms.
